A Guide To Popular RV Floor Plans
When shopping for an RV, it helps to narrow the vast selection to a more manageable number of choices. An easy way to do this is by selecting the ideal camper floor plan for your family.
Below we cover popular RV floor plans and their perks, which will hopefully make your shopping process easier. Remember you can always reach out to the experts at Golden Gait Trailers for advice and assistance. We carry a range of RVs for sale at our dealership in Concord, North Carolina. We also proudly serve those in Charlotte and Winston-Salem.
Rear Living Floor Plan
This RV floor plan comes with spacious living areas, which makes time spent inside the camper quite enjoyable. Soak up views of nature out the back and side windows, enjoy the extra cooking space when making meals, and lounge about in the living room.
Many of these models blend the kitchen and living room into an open floorplan style, which makes the living area feel even more spacious. The sleeping accommodations are placed at the front of the RV.
Rear Entertainment Floor Plan
This approach takes the same layout designs as the rear living floor plan, but with extra emphasis on entertainment. There will be more couches, a larger television, and a larger entertainment center. Those who enjoy family movie nights or keeping up with TV shows on vacation will want to consider this RV floorplan.
Outside Kitchen Floor Plan
The first RVs all had an outside kitchen floor plan. Eventually, the kitchen moved inside on standard campers. But some models still use the old-school approach - and for good reason.
An outside RV kitchen lets you enjoy nature while cooking, reduces the times you go in and out of the camper, cuts down on packing and repacking of outdoor cooking supplies, and makes hosting events easier. Most of these models will still have an interior kitchen, so you can even have two chefs working at the same time.
The Bunkhouse Floor Plan
These campers come with a unique sleeping accommodation approach: bunk beds. This doubles the sleeping capacity without sacrificing floor space. There will still be a master suite, and possible other larger beds as well, but the bunk beds are great for families with kids.
The Front Kitchen Floor Plan
People passionate about cooking will love the front kitchen floor plan. These RVs offer more countertop space, increased kitchen storage, and an overall larger kitchen. Typically, there will also be a centralized living room for everyone to enjoy as well.
The Rear Kitchen Floor Plan
This floor plan offers the same perks as the front kitchen RV, but reversed. The kitchen is simply found in the back. There is often a small "L" in the counter, providing extra meal preparation space.
The Front Living Floor Plan
Here, the living space is found at the front and the main bedroom is found in the rear. Usually, the bedroom and bathroom is larger. Enjoy more closet space, higher ceilings, and other comforts from home. There also tends to be more separation between the kitchen and living area, which is great for housing guests. They can sleep on the hide-away beds in the living area and enjoy a bit more privacy than they would in other models.
