What began in 1988 as a small family-owned business has grown into a business with sales that exceed $20 million annually yet we’re still owned by the same family; our family has grown over the years. Overview

A Cabinetmaker at Golden Gait Trailers & RVs sets up and operates variety of woodworking machines and uses various hand tools to fabricate and build custom cabinets and displays in both trailers and motorhomes. Working with various woods and laminates. This is not a production line job, it is truly custom and unique builds each time. You must also possess the talent to help work on designs and installation. This is a very unique job for a unique individual. Check out our state-of-the-art cabinet shop in person or online.

Essential Job Functions

  • Cut, shape, and assemble wooden and laminate articles. Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, edge banders, and mortisers to surface, cut or shape lumber and to fabricate parts for wood products.
  • Verify dimensions or check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Measure and mark dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock prior to cutting, following blueprints, to ensure a tight fit and quality product.
  • Reinforce joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing.

Job Requirements

A strong candidate for this position is someone who has at least two years experience in the woodworking, cabinetmaking, trailer and or RV industry.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ Years experience in woodworking, cabinetmaking required.
  • You must furnish own Hand/shop tools
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crawling, and bending.
  • May lift up to 25lbs. and/or move up to 50lbs. with assistive devicews.
  • Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Job Title: Service Technician

Overview

A Service Technician at Golden Gait Trailers & RVs performs RV, Trailer, Automotive services and repairs on customer vehicles to provide quality service and give the best rewarding customer experience possible. A Service Technician's primary responsibility is to diagnose, troubleshoot, fix problems and make repairs correctly. A Service Technician must be able to communicate with their Service Advisor to interpret problem areas and or repairs made to customer vehicles. Service Technician's at Golden Gait Trailers & RVs are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.


Essential Job Functions

  • Provide and document complete diagnostic test and repair or replacement of services.
  • Perform repair and customization work as assigned by Service Advisor.
  • Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
  • Keep Service Advisor appraised of work progress.
  • Ensure that the final work product meets quality standards and is inspected by Service Advisor.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements

A strong candidate for this position is someone who has at least two years experience in the automotive, trailer and or RV industry and technical knowledge of vehicle, trailer or RV mechanical operations. Service Technicians must possess strong technical skills to troubleshoot, fix and customize customer units to meet customer demands.

Repairing an RV

Overview

A Recreational Vehicle/RV Tech at Golden Gait Trailers & RVs performs automotive, trailer and RV services and repairs on customer vehicles to provide quality service and give the best rewarding customer experience possible. An RV Technician’s primary responsibility is to diagnose, troubleshoot, fix problems and make repairs correctly. An RV Technician must be able to communicate with their Service Advisor to interpret problem areas and or repairs made to customer vehicles. RV Technician’s at Golden Gait Trailers & RVs are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.

Purpose/Description

Diagnose, inspect, adjust, repair, or overhaul recreational vehicles including travel trailers. May specialize in maintaining gas, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, or chassis/towing systems as well as repairing generators, appliances, and interior components. Includes workers who perform customized RV conversions.

Mechanical

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Customer and Personal Service

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

A strong candidate for this position is someone who has at least two years experience in the RV, Trailer or automotive industry and technical knowledge of RV, Trailer or vehicle mechanical operations. RV Technicians must possess strong technical skills to troubleshoot, fix and customize customer units to meet customer demands.

  • 2+ year automotive, trailer or RV technician experience preferred.
  • RV or Trailer Service Technician a plus.
  • Must furnish own hand/shop tools. (Major shop tools provided.)
  • Good physical condition as some lifting is required. 
  • Ability to listen to customer needs and communicate to Service Advisor.
  • Ability to perform repair work or customization based on job requirements and customer needs.
  • Ability to uphold top-notch customer service when performing work assigned.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Must have strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work as a team and be a team player.
  • Working knowledge of safety practices and procedures and commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • RV Technician Certification would be considered a definiate asset.

Over the past 30 years, Golden Gait Trailers has established itself as the area's largest trailer dealership for car, horse and specialty type trailers. With our recent expansion into the RV and Camping industry, we are now looking to hire experienced and qualified RV personnel.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with an Industry leading team to sell new and used RVs with highest quality customer experience.
  • Conduct effective demonstration of units. Working knowledge of each product being sold.
  • Close sales effectively by working closely with F&I team.
  • Follow up and commit to a no-pressure, high integrity approach with each customer.
  • Generate ideas to exceed sales goals and demonstrate best revenue-generating practices to the team and organization.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and all departments including sales, service and finance.
  • Stay on top of market trends, the RV industry and current dealership inventory.
  • Be enthusiastic and have strong communication with customers, employees and management.

Job Requirements

  • Preferred 2+ years of RV or Trailer Sales experience.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record may be required.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Solid communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate effectiveness working with various levels of management, staff and/or outside contacts.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as required is essential. Hours may include, evenings, and weekends.

A Service Writer / Advisor at Golden Gait Trailers & RVs works with customers to schedule service work and communicate any additional service needed.  Service advisors also handle the administrative and customer relations aspects of service department operations. A Service Advisor’s primary responsibility is to interpret customer concerns and translate those concerns for the technician, so that the technician can diagnose and fix problems correctly. Service Advisors at Golden Gait Trailers & RVs are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.

Job Purpose

Initiates RV, Trailer and Automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested; verifying warranty and service contract converge; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer rapport and records. Advise and consult customers on vehicle service needs and to have expertise in building customer confidence in their vehicles, RV’s, and trailers. A Service Writer / Advisor encompasses the proper satisfaction of customer and vehicle-related concerns, meeting predetermined service objectives, goals, ensure thorough and accurate performance of the service team.

Job Description

  • Ascertains RV, Trailer and Automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.

  • Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.

  • Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns.

  • Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.

  • Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.

  • Handling customer complaints and maintaining high customer satisfaction standards.

  • Periodically checking on the progress of the vehicle during servicing and contacting the customer when technicians discover additional problems; getting customer approval to do additional work and explaining the work performed and the charges being billed.

  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Job Requirements

At least two years experience in an automotive, trailer or RV dealership position and general knowledge of vehicle, trailer or RV mechanical operations. Service Advisors must possess strong communication skills in verbal, written and electronic to communicate with customers, employees, vendors and manufacturers.

  • Ability to listen to customer needs and communicate to technician.

  • Ability to create repair orders based on job estimated and customer needs.

  • Ability to sale service repair to customer by providing complete estimate to customer.

  • Schedule technicians labor based on time allocated and maintain job performance of technician.

  • Ability to meet project deadlines and maintain constant communication with customer, technician and management.

  • Maintain customer relations by following up with customers after work is complete.

  • Collect payment once work is complete and finalize repair orders at end of completion.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Basic Computer knowledge required. (35 WPM, Microsoft Office, CRM & DMS).

  • Ability to work with a team and be a team player.
