New Ways to Use your Toy Hauler this Spring

Mar. 22 2019 Miscellaneous By ___

Spring is just around the corner and many of you might be pulling out your toy hauler for the first time in a few months. But are you tired of simply traveling to your nearest campground and finding some local trails to ride your powersports vehicle on? Okay, so maybe not. After all, there’s no better pastime when you’re out in the wilderness. But this doesn’t have to be the only purpose your toy hauler serves!

Just because the bay was designed to hold powersports vehicles, doesn’t mean that’s the only thing it can do. It’s essentially an extra room and we encourage you to use your imagination when transforming it into something that best suits your needs. For some ideas and tips, read on to see what we here at Golden Gait Trailers & RVs recommend.

Throw an Epic Tailgating Party

Heading into Charlotte to check out the next Panthers game? Time to turn your toy hauler into a tailgating vehicle. You’ll have direct access to a kitchen, storage space, and other basic amenities. You can turn the bay into a hangout area that can include food displays, TVs, and fun games. Throw some team color decorations around the RV, and you’ll be the host with the most.

Improve Hunting Trips

If you enjoy checking out some of the hunting areas near Raleigh, then you’ll want to turn the bay into the perfect hunting den, complete with all the storage you need and space for dressing and cleaning. You can also store any ATVs or UTVs you like to use to get from one location to the next, all in a secure, lockable area.

Participate in Powersports Competitions

As we mentioned, using your toy hauler to transport powersports vehicles is not only the primary purpose of the garage, but also a fun activity. Many toy hauler owners may want to continue to use their RV for this purpose, but there might be other ways you can change things up. If you’re more experienced and more skilled, consider looking into amateur powersports competitions. It’s handy to have a way to tour from one event to the next, and can be just as helpful if you eventually transition into professional circuits. You might even find some near us, in Concord, North Carolina.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Speaking of professionals on the road, there are other types of workers who can make use of the garage for business purposes. If you work in an industry that includes a lot of travel and a lot of gear, like construction or landscaping, toy haulers can be a more comfortable to travel from site to site. They can be particularly advantageous to those whose jobs keep them on the road overnight.

Create a Home Office

If you’re more of a computer person, you can still convert the bay into a home office. Set up a desk, chair, and all your other supplies for a quiet, secluded area to get some work done while you’re on the road.

Set Up a Workshop

This can be great for professionals and hobbyists alike. Things like woodworking, pottery, or other fun crafts can easily be carried out in the bay. You might need to team up with some local resources to make things easier--like having access to a kiln, for example--but if it’s safe to do your work indoors, then do it in the bay.

Make a Playroom

If you’re traveling with children, then converting the garage into a playroom can be a great way to give them their own space while freeing up some of the living area. Some of the younger children will need supervision, but a playpen won’t take up as much walking space if you put it in the back of the toy hauler.

With all this in mind, it’s time to hit the road! Don’t have a toy hauler? Then what are you waiting for? Stop by Golden Gait Trailers & RVs and let one of our friendly staff give you the full tour of available models. We proudly serve Raleigh, Charlotte, and Concord, North Carolina.
