Heading Out with Your Entegra Class A Motorhome? Here’s What to Pack

Apr. 26 2019 Miscellaneous By ___

It’s camping season and a lot of people are getting ready to head out with new campers and big plans! If you’ve just invested in an Entegra Class A motorhome, then you’re almost guaranteed to have a relaxing and comfortable vacation, whether it’s just for the weekend or all summer long. However, the only way to truly guarantee you’re comfortable is to pack all the supplies you’ll need for your trip.

Each traveler’s packing list is probably going to look a little different, but we’ve covered some basic supplies that you definitely don’t want to forget. And if you think we’ve forgotten something, let us know! Stop by Golden Gait Trailers & RVs to chat with one of our staff members. We’re in Concord, North Carolina, near Raleigh and Charlotte.

Over-Prepared is Better Than Under-Prepared

While you’ll be limited on space, keep in mind that leaving some of the essentials behind will probably only force you to make a trip to the nearest grocery store when you’re trying to relax. If you have the space for it, pack extra supplies as needed and don’t shirk on anything that you think you might actually use.

For the RV

Don’t forget any of the supplies that are crucial to running an RV, like hoses and hookups. If it helps, mentally walk through your setup process and make sure everything you need is accounted for. It’s also a good idea to bring along a basic toolkit for minor repairs, from flat tires to loose nuts and bolts and even simply a squeaky door.

Food

This can be one of the hardest tasks to tackle, simply because food can take up so much space. Your Entegra Class A RV comes with lots of storage, but it’s still somewhat limited and you’ll need to be strategic about how you pack food. Luckily, if there are fewer people in your camping party, you may not need as much food. Try to start by meal planning in a way that reuses some ingredients over and over. This way, you’re not packing different ingredients for each meal.

Try to find ways to clear up space where you’re running out. If you have too many refrigerated items, you might want to look into frozen or dried alternatives. You can also make meals ahead of time and freeze them until they’re ready to cook, like a casserole. And, of course, you can always pack enough food for the first part of the trip and plan to make a grocery run later on.

A Little Bit of Home

Don’t underestimate the importance of bringing along supplies that remind you of home. This is especially true if you’ve decided to make your Entegra Class A RV a permanent residence. You’ll be able to relax a little better when you actually feel at home, so bring along some family pictures or a rug or throw pillows or anything else that’s going to turn your motorcoach into a motorhome.

Bonus Tip: Firewood

It’s an essential part of every camping trip and campground experience: the campfire. And to make a campfire, you need firewood. Some travelers are tempted to bring the firewood with them on the road, but this can backfire pretty quickly. It takes up a lot of room and it can add a lot of weight to your vehicle. Instead, we recommend waiting until you reach your destination to buy firewood. Some campgrounds offer their own firewood, or they’ll at least know where you can go to get some. This way, you don’t have to mess with it ahead of time and you can still enjoy that quintessential campfire.
